The Horses

The horses at RDA really are the most important members of the team. The therapy that horses provide requires them to be patient, gentle and safe in order to carry out their job well.

Without our four-legged friends none of our work would be possible.

Buster is a gelding. He was born in 2002 and stands at 15:2hh. He is a black cob with 4 white socks and a white blaze on his face.

Buster has been with us since 2015 and is a very popular horse loved by our riders and has performed well at both regional and national competitions.

Ziggy is a gelding and his show name is Katie's Puzzle. He was born in 2008 and he is a piebald cob standing at 15:0hh.

He has been with the group since 2019 and has taken our riders to the regional RDA competition.

Rosie is a mare and was born in 1999. She is a bright bay cob and stands at 15.3hh.

Rosie has a lot of experience as an RDA horse- she did this for 10 years.

She is the newest member of our team and already proving to be very popular!

Emma is a mare and her show name is Something Elsie. She was born in 2006 and she is a piebald part-bred Welsh and stands at 15:1hh.

She has been with the group since 2017.

Cindy is a mare and was born in 2010. She is a chestnut-dun registered Shetland pony. Her show name is Blue Gemstone's Cindy's Secret.

Cindy is owned by our friends at C.H.E.T and has worked with our riders on a Saturday morning since 2018. She is proving to be a great hit with our meet and greet sessions. Click here to find out more about C.H.E.T.
